Ka Lā Hiki Ola

What is Ka Hiki Ola?

Ka Lā Hiki Ola (Dawning of a new Day) Program is a culturally tailored intervention that incorporates Hawaiian values helping survivors of domestic violence strengthen their bonds with their children.

It identifies the unique cultural aspects of Hawaiian/Pacific Islander families as it relates to domestic violence. Its culturally aligned therapeutic approaches help strengthen Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander families (reduced symptom, parent-child bonds, coping skills, improved life functioning, quality of life). This program also increases public awareness about primary and secondary prevention of Domestic Violence.
